Nagayao – Junmaishu Premium Sake

$55.48

Story

Nagayao means Prince Nagaya in Japanese.
He was a powerful person a long time ago in the Nara Period (684 – 729) and is said to be the grandson of Emperor Tenmu.
A wooden tablet was excavated at the site of Prince Nagaya’s residence between 1986 to 1989.

The excavated wooden tablets contained recipes for six types of sake!
Yamatsuru has reproduced one of these six types!

What does it taste like?

Prince Nagaya’s sake has a sake degree of -40 and is very sweet (understand strong umami flavor)
Because of its high acidity and amino acid content, it has a really rich taste.

The recommended way to drink:

  • Pour your sake and try it straight to taste the original sweetness of Prince Nagaya.
  • Only rich people were able to have access to ice cubes, and as a noble, Prince Nagaya was part of them.
Add some ice cubes to your sake, wait a little bit, and enjoy that refreshing taste.
