For more than 20 years, we’ve been tasting, sipping, and drinking the Japanese national beverage called Nihonshu here and Saké in the West.
It’s as deep as wine can be but definitely not as renown as the latter one.
In western countries, restaurants often serve them hot, and they are mostly very bad ones (comparable with wine tables).
Our small team based in Japan want to become your dedicated Japanese sakés provider. Thus, we would like to share with you the best and rarest sakés that are even very hard to find in Japan. Our selected sakés come directly from very small breweries in Japan and we’ve selected for you the rarest ones!

THE NIHONSHU TEAM
Mitsuru is the founder of The Nihonshu. He is an expert in making sushi, sashimi, and a sake professional for more than a decade. His knowledge about Japanese food and sake pairings are really impressive.
Mitsuru is the main person reaching out the brewers and advising on the sake selection.
If you ever come to Kansai area in Japan, make sure to contact him, he will make you try the best sushi and sake in the town!
Kentaro is in charge of the coordination and the website.
Besides Japan, Kentaro has lived abroad for many years and has a deep knowledge about international culture. He has shared with his friends abroad a lot of different sakes with Japanese foods. Naturally, his strong passion for sake made us reunited.
Christian is in charge of online marketing at The Nihonshu. He comes from France and has been living in Japan for more than 3 years. He also used to live and work in Taiwan and mainland China for over a decade. Christian is passionate about wines and sakes which led him to Japan later to further his studies.
